Re: Ravenloft GUMSHOE

Well, campaign-wise, I have my plans pretty well laid out. Here, let me put the campaign blurb I wrote... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Professor Lupescu's Travelling Ghost Show! Everyone ...

Re: Ravenloft GUMSHOE

Yess... Fear Itself looks like something a lot closer to what would be ideal for me than Trail of Cthulhu. Little less multi-academic, little more general. Useful thing!

Re: Ravenloft GUMSHOE

Could the pilot archetype be reworked for say mariner and just repurpose it for a ship? Well, it could , but since the campaign takes place entirely in Barovia it would not be much of an improvement. Still, I suppose that if I go to all this trouble, I should make it general and a QtR article. Food...

Re: Ravenloft GUMSHOE

My primary experience with GUMSHOE has been through Trail of Cthulhu and Night's Black Agents. I could certainly see the GUMSHOE system being adapted to work with Ravenloft, though magic and the influence of the Dark Powers on players might be the more difficult aspects. Trail of Cthulhu's stabilit...

Ravenloft GUMSHOE

So, after a quite long hiatus (since the death of Hazlan: Land of Magic a couple of years back), I am returning to Ravenloft. And I am thinking that I will be trying a different mechanical system for [long complex reasons that are not important here], namely, GUMSHOE (Pelgrane Press's system for Tra...

Re: Quoth the Raven 23 review

Oh hey, ghosts. I always like ghosts. Also, G'Henna!

(Speaking of, the sidebars in the G'Henna article seem a bit wonky -- apostrophes being replaced with boxes, for random reason)

Re: Quoth the Raven #23 - Submissions Open

I'm afraid that will be all for me this year. Real Life has not been conducive to finishing Nova Vaasa, so that'll be for next year, I think.

Re: Quoth the Raven #23 - Submissions Open

I think I am Barovia-ed out after QtR #21. That said, I've got a G'Henna re-imagining to submit, and a Nova Vaasa one that is about 80% done. Will need to finish and send that in.

Re: [Savage Worlds] Ravenloft

This is very, very impressive work. I can't speak to the rules system (my knowledge of Savage World is roughly limited to Ken Hite's Day after Ragnarok), but the setting goes in some very intriguing directions. Much of the Gazetteer stuff has gone in the direction of making the setting work as a coh...

Re: Quoth the Raven #22 - discussion

Well. I made some unmanly squeeing noises when I saw that Talon's art was in this book, so you accomplished that. Overall, I think the stuff is very interesting from a "history of our hobby" sort of perspective, and I'd love to see more of it. But... let's be frank, a lot of the early stuf...

Re: Quoth the Raven #22 - discussion

I've been meaning to sit down and do a big article-by-article review on this issue, but I just haven't found the time to do so, yet. Still, I thought I'd off some brief, in passing, stream-of-conciousness comments on the articles from what I can immediately remember. Well. I certainly would love to...

Re: Quoth the Raven #22 - discussion

I confess I made an entirely unmanly squeal of joy when I saw Talon's work in the QtR This issue is fantastic! All the work that's being done on this site is brilliant, I'm glad that the darkness continues. Did i miss something or did the article on Falkovnia include a major population explosion?? I...
