Longtime WW'er here. The Old World of Darkness ruleset works fairly seamlessly, and the setting is well-developed (and not as overbearing as it was in the modern era of Masquerade). The odds of getting Dark Ages: Vampire is poor, however -- the Dark Ages line went out of print soon after the rest of...

I'm rather certain I'll be using the Vitality/Wounds system from Star Wars d20 in any future Ravenloft games.

Underworld: Evolution Mini-Review (Spoiler Free)

Just returned from the theater. Let me start out by saying that the second offering is much improved over its predecessor in many ways. Let's say right now that no, its not a perfect film, and has its flaws. The visuals are a bit too bright at what is supposed to be night in some cases, for example....

As a sidenote, the Star Warts game does the same with Defense bonuses and armor benefits.

Actually, a good idea could be taken from the Star Wars d20 RPG. You have "Vitality Points" and "Wound Points." Vitality points work identically to Hit Points (in most cases -- they also are used to power Force abilities), but represent heroic luck and skill at rolling with punch...

The HP system thing. .gods no. Drop that right now. It'll just get PCs dead too quickly.. and make cheaper the Rogue, as the Rogue should have enough HP to take a couple decent hits in a scrap as they sneak and backstab, and Bards.. Bards are made to be decently efficient second-line combatants. Ser...

Oh yeah.. the controls were bad and the game itself wasn't much more than a cheap Resident Evil knockoff in its gameplay.. but it had style and plot, oozed coolness, and had a good set of characters, as well as a delightful bit of dark wit.

..and zombie hookers...

..and frankenmobsters...

I know that the original game was made by Terminal Reality, right? They did a similar-set game for PC, Nocturne... same universe as that? I'd heard that a Nocturne movie was in the works, but that was several years ago...

RE Halans losing powers outside the Demiplane.. I'd hazard a guess they might keep them in Toril, given a "Weave" exists there, and even a darker version.. that's just me.

White Wolf posted a huge amount of preview material on their site. I never picked up Mage, myself, but I liked what they had going in the previews, and plan to pick it up.

Personally, I much prefer Requiem to Masquerade. Much more elegant, more gothic, and more intimate in its horror. Also, the five "clans" are based on archetypes : Daeva : Vampire as sexual predator Gangrel : Vampire as predatory hunter Mekhet : Vampire as shadowy lorekeeper Nosferatu : Vam...
