Castles Forlorn was fun for me. We really didn't run it out of the box though. It was more a backdrop that worked nicely for the game.

Rafael,

I've never tried it. Is Joc Internacional still in business?

Joël, Thanks. I hate to say it, but I ad-libbed the entire thing. I was really unprepared for the session. Usually I write down a bunch of beats/bangs of things I would like to see happen, but I was one part lazy and two parts busy. I've been thinking about the next session and I'm not sure which wa...

[Actual Play] Village of Blois

Thought I would share our Ravenloft game we are running. I'm using a TV show sort of format to structure the game, which is how I am breaking down what happened below. You can get more details concerning how we are dealing with Ravenloft here . Feel free to ask me any questions if you got any... The...

Shadow Rift?

So we agreed that the main bad guys in the game I am running tomorrow is going to be unseelie style fey guys. I don't have the Shadow Rift book (on its way from eBay), so I am wondering what you folks can tell me about them.

Seems good, realistic and simple. May start altering, adding, subtracting etc to form a system based on what you propose here? It would be interesting to use in Dementlieu, Borca, Richemulot etc. 1) Are you OK with this? It is your system after all... 2) Do you want me to send you a preview of my a...

Oh, sounds a lot like the Nigerian phone scam. Thankyou for the insight. Do you think that the FBI would spend the man-hours needed to track these guys? Is this a big enough crime to warrent the investigation necessary to identify the hackers? Now I am not too sure. It depends on the damage usually...

OK... I can't stop thinking about it. Still, I don't have the book and I don't think it will ever come over here. So, please can you Make a less vague system, based on the one proposed but modeled for Richemulot and Borca, and post it here? I do not propose to you to copy-paste the thing as that wo...

Well it certianly sounds like a good start. No magic system, eh? Does that mean that nothing supernatural exists in the the game? No. There are feats like the Dreamer and something that covers the crazy stuff the Maegie (sp?) can do, but it really doesn't cover what you do with this stuff well. A l...

Doubtful. No matter how stupid or ameturish these "Hackers" might be, I'm sure their not so stupid as to use an email address that they actually use. The server address might possibly be a means of tracking them, but that address is clearly not a real address - no one could ever remember ...

Thanks Keith, very insightful. You mentioned that the game has a political angle on it. Naturally, this can be a risky venture, since politics can be boring. How does the game encourage players to join the game of intrigue? How do the rules make it easier for players to get involved in such an abst...

There's some other critical questions that need answering: such as "Will people with no familiarity with the Game of Thrones series be able to enjoy this setting?" Or "How did playing under these rules feel different than normal D&D?" Or "Which feat do you need to be a ...

Re: Rebirth of a dark flame...

I may be way out here but it sounds like WotC trying to cashing in on the Ravenloft thing with out going to the trouble of taking the whole line back on board..... ??? Don't have much to add about the book. It is, I think, a good application of the core DnD system to heroic horror. WotC isn't so mu...

Now that you have these PCs inside the Castle for a specific goal not really related to the Castle background, how do you have them interested in the rich background story of the place? Well I guess that is the fatal flaw with the background. Unless the Players have a vested interest in it, they ar...

Joël, I can't really think of any reason to go besides being chased there or chasing someone. Maybe a better route to go with it is to have it come to them periodically. What I mean by that, is regardless of where they are at have them suddenely find themselves being a part of the events of that dom...
