I don't see keeping horses as being necessarily unrealistic, even with the food shortage, but I do however imagine horse-theft (for purposes of nourishment) to be a serious problem in Paridon. Cabbage, Llana, I'm thinking a cool idea could be to have Paridon appoint a "horse guard" to the ...

My feeling on it is that Paridon could use a bit of nudge technologically, maybe not to the point of repeating rifles, fully-fledged steam locomotives and such to avoid bleeding into MotRD territory, but a few little upgrades here and there would do it no harm.
