RATS
Moorkroft looks up from his patient and says" He has a fever, and his pulse is quickened . I cannot say for certain whether this blood is his, or something he drank , and has coughed up...''. The noise and motion from the coffin draw his attention just then... When the rat jumps out, he lets ou...

home on leave
Sorry I was absent for a couple of days. I am home on leave, and my travel time[including a wait in Kuwait] was longer than anticipated. I am back now. Looks like I only missed just a little bit... whew!

holy
Moorkroft kneels next to Tavian , leaning over him and pressing his holy symbol toward the man. ''If you can hear me clearly, I need you to lie still. '' He will attempt to check Tavian's pulse. If he feels no pulse, he'll immediately attempt to turn undead. If he does feel a pulse, he'll attempt to ...

ravenloft
I hope my earlier sarcasm hasn't set off a flame war! Seriously, it was only a little joking. I am just happy they are publishing anything Ravenloft!

holey moley!
Moorkroft will attempt to asses the extent of his and his companions' injuries. If no one has lost much blood, he will just bandage them with some strips of cloth. If anyone looks like he might be near shock, he will heal them by chanelling positive energy.

cloaker
CLOAKER, DREAD, OUTLANDER [MONSTER MANUAL] They say the air went bad, and that made me imagine what happened after the cave-in. It isn't so! The collapse sealed us in, but it opened up a deeper tunnel. Good air came through the gap, but not only air. It let THEM in. Gods! It all happened so fast. Th...

Still love you, D20
I was only poking fun at 3E 's tendency to powergame. That was all written in a spirit of silliness. Not trying to be too harsh. Heck, I play 3E! I just make fun of WOTC's occasional excesses, in a good-natured way.

I always found that Earth -Ravenloft crossovers worked well. I planned on taking a party of explorers from Europe - circa 1600 ,and having the Mists snatch them up at sea, en route to the New World. Landing in Darkon instead of Virginia would be quite a shock.Never got around to running that particu...

holy diver!
Moorkroft follows the girl . His eyes seem intent on her alone. His lips can be seen to move, but he is speaking too softly to be heard.

I like your idea. Maybe use the opera as inspiration, without staying too close to the plot. What if Kaspar had gotten away with his plan? Or what if Max had not repented ? Samiel seems to be a demon, and therefore I don't like him as a darklord[how do you corrupt something that's already 100% evil?...

brandistock, magic bullets, other stuff
The staff/trident sounds like a brandistock. Roger Moore wrote an article for Dragon, years ago, that had some pretty nifty enchantments for primitive firearms. It was called something like' Sixguns and Sorcery'-despite having nothing to do with revolvers[the weapons covered are much simpler designs...

Ireena????? Not Tatyana? I am confused. Imagine how confused poor old Strahd must be. Did she get retconned into a new name? Probably new 3.5 stats , too: a 16th level commoner /8th level vampire bait/ 3rd level cliff diver prestige class , with standard starting wealth[so she can afford a vorpal ho...

combo weapons, and other stuff
Yeah, combination firearms were very cool. The Germans seem to have made quite a few. Like a boar spear with a gun barrel attached. Hard to miss your shot when the thing's stuck in the boar. When reloading is so slow, such weapons make a certain ammount of sense. A much later era produced the Elgin ...
