Great topic! Remember, to the average commoner, Ravenloft isn't a cruel and evil world to live in. Sure, it's got it's share of oddities, like the Mists, and random strangers popping out of nowhere from time to time, but that's just the way of the world. It's always been like that for you, why shoul...

Great film, though not one to watch stoned, apparently. I liked Event Horizon better. Argh. That movie is mindnumbingly bad. I came home at 3 AM one night, pretty damn drunk, and it still sucked... Or maybe it made it suck even more, I don't know. It was still painfully bad, without actually reachi...

And how might someone who's always in two minds about everything look, you might ask. Well, ask no further, only... behold: The Apeboy from Norway, otherwise known to the world as Mighty Mad Malken, shown here to the right of mr. A. Brown, the furclad midget from Egypt: http://i2.photobucket.com/alb...

http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/201514/ChrisVange.jpg I'm the guy in the picture. Not the best of me, but as good as i could hope for while being drunk at a martial arts tournament (Shidokan) OMG. You're actually touching a member of the opposite sex. Is that even allowed for us nerds? I'm i...

England, late 1890s: Strange cylinders have crash landed around the country, supposedly from Mars. The "Martians" build huge tripod-like warmachines and decimate the country, only the PC's can help stop it. I see we read the same comics :) Joël You should see me dance the polka... Hello o...

Me, I'm complicated as well. Born and raised a protestant in the Norwegian State Church, I usually choose to label myself a christian. Still, I have a lot of Unitarian views as well, and a bit of this and that. I consider myself a religious person, although I'm still somewhat sceptical towards the m...

Goodbye for now!

I'm going through some changes in my life, which makes it difficult for me to keep up with this community and others that I used to frequent when I had more time on my hands. I've moved to a new place to attend a photography school, and with only public computers and little private life to spare, I ...

So, your going for something more true to history then? Cool. When you say Agatha Christy-ish, do you mean just mystery adventures? Didn't mean to dis your idea, but yes, I was aiming for the typical approach that everything happened as we know, just not for the same reasons. When I say Agatha Chri...

Yeah, I remember. I'm not sure that's quite what I was aiming for, if your idea is alternate history. But the Red Death could easily be used as the reason for the changes the world is going through in this period.

1920's

I friend of mine suggested that I'd arrange a 1920/Agatha Christie-ish campaign today. I think it sounds like a great idea, advancing Gothic Earth kicking and screaming into the 20th century. The 1920's is also about the last decade that I think still preserves the Gothic feeling. Anyone have any su...

Malken, why not ask the shops if they will run ads to look for other RL gamers? It might be worth a try :) Well, I have all the players I want at the moment, but it would be fun to try to find some fellow Ravenloft players out there. Maybe I could ask the owner of the shop what kind of people buy R...

Huh, honorary European status eh? I'd rather we expelled the French too, so you could build your own continent. I hear Greenland has plenty available space. :D Smack dab in the middle of Norway here. Living in Norway's third largest city, and probably the 2nd highest Roleplayer - Normal people ratio...

Hey, we should have a new poll: which Bride did you like best? I liked the redhaired Bride the best. :P Anyways, what bothered me the most was Helsings supposedly mysterious backstory; if I'm right in assuming he's the Archangel Gabriel, then how the hell could he be infected with lycanthropy? Shoul...

I'm supportive of the whole idea, but due to the obscurity of Masque, I'm afraid the actual activity may be too low to warrant it. I know that I probably can't commit myself to something like that now, however much I would like. How about a board just dedicated to Modern Horror Roleplaying in genera...

Van Helsing (Yes, indeed, there may be spoilers...)

...not that you should care, really. Saw it on the world premiere on Wednesday, and before I start, I must add this disclaimer: I would never have bothered if it wasn't for the fact that it was free, free, free! To kick of our local cinemas' summer-campaign, they showed on a huge canvas smack dab in...
