Re: Curse of Strahd: Opinions?

Personally I read this adventure with a very specific head cannon. The Time of Unparalleled Darkness occurred on schedule and almost everyone in Ravenloft managed to make it out in some form (actual escape or death being the most common). It was such a complete collapse that the Dark Powers almost ...

Cool object, cool drawings, but ...it is small! The images on the cards are barely bigger than CoS's appendix.

It's a shame that they're so small. I guess it's a good thing I ordered mine for a little over $7 on eBay.

Re: Curse of Strahd: Opinions?

I'm having to order a new copy as mine is beginning to have problems with the spine of the book. Using it last night to look up some information during the vampire spawn encounter caused it to pop loudly and I could feel it in my hand as it shifted. Aside from that, which can happen, the book was in...

Re: Curse of Strahd: Opinions?

While I did order and receive CoS my copy was badly misprinted so I returned it for a refund, I plan to get it again at a later date though. I have heard many mixed opinions on the book, but I did like the Tarokka deck that was released and am very glad I ordered that. I means that when I run anoth...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

I'm definitely hoping so! Also, I pre-ordered my screens yesterday. I really dislike their shipping options, or rather, the lack thereof. The shipping price is also rather high... Here's the thing, though. I just did a little experiment. Whether I ordered just the Tarokka, or Tarokka+Screen, or Tar...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

Yeah, for me, it's not a question of "need". It's a question of "obsessively desire". :) Well said! Also, I wasn't able to get the 3.5E screen, or even the 2E version. This will be a proud addition to my collection! Also, it'll assist with some maps and tables in easy view for m...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

Just thought everyone might like to know that they've announced DM screens for Curse of Strahd. Here is a link, for those that are interested.

Re: Curse of Strahd: Opinions?

The post office decided that my copy didn't need to be shipped from one of their locations late last night, so I'm having to wait until tomorrow to receive my copy. Amazon did their best, but the post office dropped the ball on me. Again. I will say though, that I downloaded the Adventurers League m...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

I'll be getting my copy on the 15th, which is perfectly fine with me. I actually started running Death House last night in my home game, which my players are seeming to enjoy. Four hours into it so far, and we stopped for the night at the level two milestone. We'll be picking up again in the morning...

The Curse of Strahd Player's Guide and Dungeon Master's Guide for the Adventurers League are now online: https://twitter.com/DnD_AdvLeague/status/705870647239516164 There's not much new info in here, though -- mostly guidance for new Adventurers League players, plus Ravenloftian notes on how certai...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

Most of the Adventurers League modules are meant to be 4 hours long. Others are 2 hours. You can see the lengths in the individual descriptions on the D&D AL site: http://dndadventurersleague.org/curse-of-strahd-adventures/ For a 4-hour adventure, we write approximately 10,000 words. I apprecia...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition

Then I'll hope that the speculation is correct. If not though, I do have some ideas on how to keep them once printed off. I don't understand why they didn't release the first module yesterday so that DMs would have a chance to read up on it before the release of Curse of Strahd. Also, does anyone ha...
