The problem is that if you don't have this variety of powers, there are then complaints about how few powers there are, how they're all the same, and how therefore all the characters are the same. It seems to end up being a case of "damned if you do and damned if you don't".

There are two big problems with 4th edition 1) It is too inflexible for spellcasters. Fighters were beefed up which was needed but spell casters were completely nerfed. A 4th lvl Cleric gets a whopping 5 spells. In 3.5 he gets 12+ wis bonus. 2) It is nothing like the previous editions which makes a...
