Yeah, I'm going to chime in here with those who've said they prefer to start campaigns at level one. So do I, and not just Ravenloft campaigns; campaigns in general; I just started a Planescape campaign, and the PCs started at level one there too. The players have PrCs they want to take? Great; let ...

Ah, see, well, if you're talking about Brazilian law, that's another matter altogether. Except that I'm pretty sure U.S. companies with their works under U.S. copyright can still sue someone under U.S. law, so I don't know if Brazilian law is terribly relevant in this case. Anyway, I certainly wasn'...

That could be pretty cool, But I don't think I want to pit up the party againts something of that streingth as of yet. Huecuvas aren't necessarily that all that powerful. It's a template that increases the CR by 2 and that can be added to any base creature with at least one level in the cleric, dru...

Legally u can copy about 10% of any book, if this weren't legal how there would be on amazon.com the "first chapter thing"? Of course you cannot sale this 10%. I don't know where you heard this, but no, it is simply false. You cannot legally copy 10%, or any other fixed percentage, of a b...

about copyright material: u can "share" 10% of the book (that actually for me would be the nidala section of island of terror heheh). Not true, I'm afraid; there's no set proportion of a book you can legally share without violating copyright, and certainly as much as 10% could get you in ...

Erm...if that's true, shouldn't he have a Strength of more than 6?

Re: What do you get when you cross....

The book that covers mutliple templates the best is Savage Species ; if you have that book, see the section on "Multiple Templates" on pages 142-144. If you don't have it, here are the general rules: Templates can be applied in any order (whatever order makes the most sense for the creatur...

I actually composed my own theme song for the Ghost Dancer for a Ravenloft campaign. Early in the campaign (even before the PCs got to Ravenloft), there were hints about the Ghost Dancer; an NPC or two had nightmares she was behind, and I made mention of a melody that kept recurring in those nightma...

Re: Carnival

The Carnival played a part in one Ravenloft campaign I ran. I didn't use the adventures at the end, though; I just assumed those events had already happened by the time the PCs encountered the Carnival (so Pacali was no longer around, etc.) This isn't a reflection on the quality of those adventures,...

I did use a dragon in a Ravenloft campaign once...but it was sort of a special case, and the dragon arguably sort of didn't exactly exist. There is described in one Ravenloft book-- Forged of Darkness , IIRC, though I can't find my copy of it right now so I can't check--a magical book of fairy tales...

The problem is that most of the time the magazines aren't interested in material for cancelled product lines, and when they did do their "Campaign Classics" thing they didn't give any more advance notice about it to planewalker.com than to anyone else. However, I don't honestly know if, wh...

In upcoming Jan. issue have Spelljammer, Planescape, and Ravenloft all in the works. Hm. Honestly, I'm not sure whether to consider this good news or not. If it's not going to do something major with the settings, I'd almost rather WotC kept its hands off them entirely than published little snippet...

Replying belatedly to a few somewhat old posts that don't seem to have been specifically addressed yet: Wasn't something up with Planescape and dark Sun? No. At least, with Planescape, I can say it's a definitive no, because I'm fairly heavily involved with the (fan-run) official Planescape website,...
