i liked what Rotipher had to say - loa as sort of an extension of a nature religion, an animist faith where potentially everythign has a spirit. So, you might see "shamans" and which doctors as more like druids than clerics... Isn';t there a shaman class somewhere... in the complete divie ...

I always assumed the bracer teleported her from land to land. If there were multiple clones why even have her travel when you could just activate the next one. Heck, for that matter, why not just activate them all at once and complete the Gazetteer in record time? Well, it's unlikely that it would ...

Thx for the input, i think i finally found my problem, it wasn't that invidia is boring but that my players are boring (they insists to play chaotic evil characters and their choice of god depend on the power granted). So i put them into a generic forgotten realms where i could find any kind of goo...

I don't have the BoED, but I played with someone whose cleric took vow of poverty and vow of peace. We kept getting hit with that damn aura of clam emotions. It led me to have some wicked thoughts about how that would play out in Ravenloft. One scenario I envisioned was a flesh golem belonging to A...

Re: What's your opinion on Book of Exalted Deeds in Ravenlof

Negative, positive, etc? Just wondering what people thought about it. I got no idea how it plays out in Ravenloft, so I'm curious to see what people who've used it in Ravenloft thought of it. Obviously, some of the things aren't appropriate at all (Vassal of Bahamut), but I'm curious to see what yo...

I can't believe I just did this... Believe it, my brother! But, this has taught us that darklords are NOT good for singing about  And Jack - I think you've got it right on the nail. That's about as close to perfect as you can get - one can't forget that, certain darklors, are guaranteed to c...

Just one of the many reasons why I didn't like "Dance of the Dead." I didn't like Christie Golden's depiction of the loas... they looked like they would fit better in Alice in Wonderland than in a gothic setting. I really hope we don't include them (or much of anything else from that book...

The questions of Darklords is touchy. I think the scale is a lot smaller for most adventurers - you try to make a diffrence in a small way. Youi stop the zombie infestation ofr the time being. You unmask one (of 10) cults in a city. You destroy the beats plaguing the mountins but nothing prevents an...

While I know this seems to have been dealt with already, I just wanted to mention something about the slavery. I undertsand the concern that it will be misinterpreted by those who lack the maturity to undertstand that you can't have voodoo without that colonial influence and the sort of "secrec...

I don;t know about scary books... it's harsd to scare me in writing, I think. Though, maybe it would be more accurate that I am horrified at times, by the ramifications of a book Or, for myself, poetry works well: My suggestions include: "The Second Coming," a short poem by W. B. Yeats - h...

Unofficial Poll - Book Review Section

I had a question for everybody out there - does anybody actually read the book review section of the site? I am a literature major, and along-time ravenloft fan, and as sort of a personal project that marries both of my passions - and a continuation of the Ravenloft proud tradition of basing things ...

How about, the religion is the same as to what was found in Dementlieu by the Home Faith sect (causing the birth of the third sect), a ancient version of the Ezra religion found them in the old churches, this would mean that links between the two domains in the false history could be establish para...

Seems like ancient history now, but the one and only article I officially submitted (well, to any ravenloft-connected product) was my "Valeri Antonin - Hymns of a Heretic" NPC for the Book of Sacrifices... wow, that was WAYYYY back now.... I especially had fun with it because all the refer...
