Avra does not notice, either the pain or the abscence of it for a few moments... he continues to breathe slowly and take slow, measured step. After a few moments, when he finally feels the pain no longer, he opens his eyes and looks around at the others. "Gather your enegry to you - pain cannot...

Avra closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. Pain is an illusion of the mind. He concentrates on his breathing to the exclusion of thw pain and tentatively takes a step forward...

Could I call dibs on Outlook and World view? I think that it goes hand in hand with the whole Art thing I was promoting. ( I think someone had already called "Language" - or at least they wanted to make a language primer? - otherwise, I can probably lump that in with the art/culture/world ...

Avra's dream alter-ego is still recognizably the same person but is seems like an idealized version of himsef. His beard and his hair are much longer with streaks of white. They seems to move every so slightly as if under the effects of a slight wind. His clothing is very plain: he has white pants, ...

There are steam-powered looms that weave cloth. I'd say that settles any controversay there might have been over whether there are factories or not. I would still maintain, however, that they are relatively few of them, and that they are pretty new. besdies - a population of 12000 or so would not a...

I know it's not likely to be a very prominent section of the Gaz (in fact, probably no more than a page or two) but I call dibs on writing something up about Pardon's arts. If there is one thing that Paridoners CAN export, it is things which allow them to best showcase their "advanced" tec...

I just wanted to pipe up about technology levels as well as literary inspiration for Paridon. Dickens is high victorian, which means by then that the steam engine has been "perfected" enough to make trains, start figuring out the automobile (slowly) and most manufacturing plants have machi...

I second oan's request. otherwise: YES! I totally want that! I actually took Latin for 3 years, so I know a little, enou8gh to work through short passages given sufficient time (and ressources) so I'm sure I could make some great handouts with that!

(my email should be in my profile, I think)

Rotipher's got you covered, though I would add one thing: though the institution may not belive in the power of certain sciences and methods for dis/proving crimes, it IS possible for your PC/NPC to hold the view that they CAN solve problems this way. He's just be something of a mevarick (a little l...

Avra, silent now for quite some time, offers to do the second shift. "How's Lodissio?" he asks, to no one in particulat and goes to check on him himself... "I wonder now, oddly, where Path could have gone to, and how... and WHY I am thinking about that now..." [sorry guys - fort ...
