Re: Ravenloft Witch and Warlock class problems

Maybe because they worship a different deity from Hala? Or because they're playing in a non-Ravenloft setting? I meant in Ravenloft, but you have a point... Anyway this homebrew feat fixes some issues I had Blood of the Chosen You are descended from one of the original thirteen men and women chosen...

Re: Ravenloft Witch and Warlock class problems

I found the Prestige Class Mystic Theurge (DMG II p. 192), it has almost the same prerequisites and has the ability to advance in both arcane and divine magic as a Hallowed Witch does, but lacks the coven and witchcraft class abilities, has the same Att but worse saves and lacks spell resistance. Fi...

Re: How do you decide how often you allow the PC's to gain magical items?

I believe that small stories attached to a magical item give more flavour to the game and also make the weapon seem special too. So I believe it is important to describe any item identified as magic as being somehow special. For an item to be magic it usually needs to also be of top quality so this ...

Re: Ravenloft Witch and Warlock class problems

Back then, I didn't see it as a problem at all. Even before this Prestige class, we had other Cleric/Wizard hybrid prestige classes. The way it was handled is not that you are 3rd level cleric and then 3 levels of sorcerer. It was you start as a 1st lvl cleric, then get a level of wizard, then 2nd ...

Ravenloft Witch and Warlock class problems

Howdy! In the 2e Van Richten's Monster Hunters Compedium III the witch/warlock class is actually a kit that can be adopted by any non-spellcaster class (fighter, thief), the only prerequisites are Int, Wis and Con ability scores and to have been tutored by another witch/warlock of at least 3rd level...

Re: What do you do about the languages issue?

Voice of the City For some, the ability to make oneself understood in the midst of any culture is of far greater value than the ability to influence the beasts of the wild. Class: Druid, ranger, or spirit shaman. Level: 1st. Replaces: If you select this class feature, you do not gain wild empathy. ...

Re: Gwydion

The name Gwydion may be interpreted as "Born of Trees". A name from Welsh mythology. In the Mabinogion, Gwydion was a powerful magician who made his nephew a wife from flowers (Blodeuwedd, meaning "face of flowers").

Re: The Apparatus: What is it good for?

Don't you need the Rod of Rastinon to perform the splitting function? Without the rod the Apparatus can only exchange minds between bodies; it cannot split or rejoin a single psyche. According to legend, the Apparatus can also rejoin the psyches it has divided. Theoretically, two normal subjects, e...

Re: The Apparatus: What is it good for?

The Apparatus is the size of a house, needs a lot of lightning to activate, and for its most common use requires you to abduct the person whom you want to trans possess. Outside of "Thoughts of Darkness", has anyone actually used the Apparatus in his or her campaign? The Apparatus first a...

I am sure Maestro Della Nebbia (Mistmaster) uses a version of his own creation. Which is it?
