Re: 7 Days...
20 Vampire (Nosferatu subtype) (3 points). Classic villain that just lends itself to a great backstory. Specifically love Nosferatu (3rd ed version) b/c they can be out in the daytime. Really upends PCs' expectations. 8 Ghost (2 points). Ghosts are great villains. Also love the idea PC's have to thi...

Re: New DMsGuild Product: Whos Doomed - The Lords of Ravenlo
Jester, Was curious if you have any plans to make another "Who's Doomed" sort of book, except this time w/ some of the heroes of Ravenloft? Would be interesting to see your take on characters such as the Weathermay-Foxgrove twins, Jander, Ivan Dragonov, Van Richten (even though he's sorta,...

Re: Innocent character as a background for 5th ed
I was thinking about updating the True Innocent as a Background myself. I see a few appropriate skills for this background: Animal Handling (animals tend to like you), Insight (you tend to be empathic), Medicine (you tend to care for others), Performance (you tend to find easy to convey the beauty ...

Re: Innocent character as a background for 5th ed
Background Proficiencies 5e backgrounds reflect the skills the PC has from pre-adventure life. Most backgrounds give out 4 total of language, tool, or skill proficiencies. (so [1 language, 1 tool, 2 skills] or [0 language, 2 tools, 2 skills] etc.) You might just let the player customize based on th...

Re: Innocent character as a background for 5th ed
So I was specifically thinking about the rules aspects of making an Innocent background as per the Player's Handbook. In our previous campaign, which was Pathfinder as well, we had it all set up for this character. But since my group wanted to move to 5th ed D&D, it's a little trickier to make i...

Innocent character as a background for 5th ed
Hi everyone, For my upcoming campaign, one of my players is looking to remake a character we had started a few years ago when we were doing Pathfinder. Now that we're doing D&D 5th, we decided to redo the character as he never really got the chance to play. One of the main keys to the character ...

Re: DM's Guild releases
This looks awesome!! I already bought your Heroes of Mist book and thought it was fantastic. Loved the Dark Shadows idea. Great work & can't wait to read this one!! I'm starting a new game in Barovia but wanted to distance my game from Curse of Strahd stuff, so a proper Strahd write up is most w...

Re: Paladin Oath of Vengeance
My group is pretty experienced with Ravenloft and the general atmosphere as we have been playing it for many years. I think I probably have to adjust my expectations a bit as you are right, 5ed definitely changes up the atmosphere a bit. I was planning on having a session 0 sort of thing with each a...

Re: Paladin Oath of Vengeance
Hi everyone, Thanks so much for your feedback, really appreciated. As some context, I'm not actually using Curse of Strahd. I am using 5th ed rules, but am keeping the general 3.5 White Wolf campaign vibe that I've always used. I also bought off DM's Guild the really excellent Heroes the Mist book (...
