Running the House of Lament
Please do blog your running of the House of Lament adventure here! I for one would be quite happy to read it. Do you think a PC will sacrifice himself to free Mara and have the House meet its end? Or is that contrary to the new adventure of the House? Incidentally, I agree wholeheartedly with you th...

Re: Saragoss
Thanks for the replies! Mistmaster and Kourenko, a little harsh, don't you think? I don't see why Saragoss would need a rewrite. I concur that considerable work would be required to make it a viable setting for multiple adventures, but as already stated, I think that work would be worth it, a view s...

Saragoss
I find myself especially intrigued by domains which serve as prisons within the greater prison of Ravenloft itself, such as Dr. Heinforth's sinister asylum or the watery domain of Saragoss. I think an adventure in Saragoss would require developing several of the trapped ships and their crews, but it...

Re: Anyone used a Hebi-No-Onna?
As far as how to get one into the Core, the Ravenloft Calendar had some festivities with Rokushiman fireworks, and there's some company that provides fireworks-as-a-service for such events. Paridon should have some trading arrangements set up, and I really think one of the port cities could have a ...

Anyone used a Hebi-No-Onna?
The Hebi-No-Onna from the Ravenloft Monstrous Compendium III always struck me as an excellent antagonist! Unfortunately, they are confined to Sri Raji and Rokushima Taiyoo, two Domains pretty far off the beaten path. Has anyone here used a HNO, and if so, how did it go?

Re: The Brain.
Before speculating on hooks to bring them together, it would be helpful to know about what they might have to offer each other. Also, what common enemies or causes might they have? Yeah it's a tough one to sell what they can offer each other. One is setting up an assassin's guild, so that could be ...

Anyone used a Mist Golem?
The Mist Golem has always struck me as a tremendously powerful monster, much like the Ravenloft version of a Tarrasque. I was just curious as to whether any Ravenloft DM has actually used a Mist Golem in an adventure?

Re: Using the Fraternity of Shadows in a Ravenloft campaign
Previous thread on the subject: http://fraternityofshadows.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9604 (actually, looks like you started that one too. Don't worry, it was over a year ago. That happens to all of us sometimes...) Of course, there may be some more answers now... so, let's start the d...

Using the Fraternity of Shadows in a Ravenloft campaign
I find this organization intriguing (though I'm disappointed by the fact that the requirement for members to be able to cast illusions excludes Arcanists from their ranks) and I'm curious to hear how others have used this organization in their campaigns. As the Big Bad? As a conspiracy for the PC's ...

Re: Davion the Mad...
I liked his original story better, a prime example of the old saying "Be careful what you wish for". This new story seems to make him in some ways too much like Lemot Juste.

Other good Dragon articles
There is already a listing on this site of all Dragon articles pertaining directly to Ravenloft, but there are plenty of articles which are quite well-suited to Ravenloft and I thought I'd list them here, for your use. #76 The Deathmaster, A particularly vile NPC sub-class of the wizard with plenty ...

Re: Lucre on Liffe
Here's yet another Liffen villain I'm fleshing out for my campaign: Lucre the Coin Golem is listed as a Dread Possibility there (Filthy Lucre), five of his coins having been taken there as museum curios. IMC I've stated before that Lucre is an ally/lieutenant of Malken, which works perfectly here: ...

Re: Let's all do the (Lamordian) time warp again!
Yeah, there is really quite a lot there. Only thing is that you have to really be creative to pull PCs into there. Aside from the standard, overdone, "the Mists arise and take you elsewhere", the best way I can think of to get the PC's to go to Forlorn is to have a fugitive or enemy whom ...

Re: Let's all do the (Lamordian) time warp again!
Also, I think it would make for a really set up for a string of adventures. For example, if Dr. Mordenheim ever heard about the time distortion effect in Forlorn, he might send adventurers to explore and record their observations such that Dr. M. could know more about temporal distortions for his s...

Re: Let's all do the (Lamordian) time warp again!
So in looking for ways to create adventure hooks to explain the various holes in the Ravenloft timeline, I've recently come to Mordenheim and Lamordia. As we know, there is a number of holes where the existence of Lamordia is referenced even before its existence (example: Lumley hiring Vistani to s...
