Re: Magic: the Gathering's Ravenloft revealed: INNISTRAD

Ok, quick question here as I do like the M:tG lore. How much lore is out there on Innistrad and would it be easy to create the area as a domain or island?

Re: Domain information questions

Basically, it is of my opinion that a domain usually reflects who the darklord is and what their curse is more so than where they come from. Mordent is from an undefined prime material world, with Dementlieu, Richmulot, and Verbrek all being spawned by the DPs for DLs who are natives of Mordent, so...

Re: Domain information questions

Thanks for the replies. This gives me some ideas to work with and an angle for the campaign. I had the thought of a couple other domains coming in from the same world and a threat forming to break all the associated domains off the core and into a cluster. If the above domains are all part of the sa...

Domain information questions

I am looking for some information that I cannot seem to find concerning the cultures and original world of the following domains ( I have listed what I have so far): Dementlieu: Renaissance France Mordent: England possibly Renaissance. Richmulot: Rural France. Chivalric(?) Valachan: Medieval but cul...

Re: Van Richten Guide Question

I agree that there would be altered or even fake copies of the books out there. Which adds a nice layer of doubt to the PCs by getting their hands on a copy of one of the books just to find out the information was all bunk. Definitely something I can see certain enemies doing to keep their backsides...

Re: Van Richten Guide Question

Thanks for the replies! This does fit with what I had thought in that they would be rare and maybe owned by nobles, scholars and the odd secret society. This also gives me an idea of having fakes and forgeries running about as they would be rare. Nothing my players will find soon but something to us...

Van Richten Guide Question

While I am well aware of the guides and how they stand for the setting; I am curious about how these are seen in universe. I know that the guides exist in the setting but I was wondering how common they are. Are they able to be picked up in any bookstore, only available to those in the know or somew...

Re: Quick Survey for DMs (any edition)

I always use a base of some sort be it an inn, ruined tower or something they have bought. In my last campaign (Forgotten Realms) it was an old alchemy shop a player inherited.

Hello

I don't know if this is the right place but I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I started playing during the 2e era but only ran Ravenloft a couple of times. I am now more interested in the setting since I have matured as a DM and wanted to give horror another shot. I was very happy to ...
