Re: I6 Ravenloft Review

Thank you - and I must again extend a thanks to Leeman Kessler, of Ask Lovecraft, for his Chris Walken as Strahd, a master of the Walken Dead as a commenter put it. Also, I had to cut a bit where Strahd tells me he's rented out the dungeon to some guy who goes around randomly spanking people, but he...

He was totally playing "Maniac" on an accordion.

Re: accordians in ravenloft?(silly)

When he needs to relax, Azalin plays show tunes on an accordion... slowly.

Re: Uses of Sergi

It has been ages since I read that book, but if I remember the sequence correctly it just made me think Strahd was a d---.

Anyway, a vengeful Sergi could be interesting.

Re: Personal Canon

I lived in the city of Gabrovo while in Bulgaria and the city is nestled in north-south valley in the central Balkans. Directly north of the city is a wide, flat plateau like area once home to a castle and small community. The ruins have been partly restored so as to just show the outlines of the ol...

In other words, you didn't know it because Grumpy RPG Reviews made it up.
In my defense, this entire thread is called "Personal Cannon."

Uses of Sergi

Has anyone ever used Sergi in any manner? It occurs to me that Tatyana is reincarnated over and over, perhaps Sergi is reincarnated as well, just to make things interesting/completed for Strahd.

Tatyana and Sergi confronting Strahd can take on shades of the ending to Ladyhawk.

Re: Prologue Campaign: Terg War

Are the Terg even human?

Edit: you should also prepare to have some players try to prevent the events of the wedding for going to hell so badly.

"Do you know what 'nemesis' means? A righteous infliction of retribution manifested by an appropriate agent. Personified in this case by an 'orrible (bad guy) ... me." -said by any of the charismatic Dark Lords attempting to coerce the PCs into some action. EDITED BY JOEL OF THE FOS: Dude,...

Re: Personal Canon

Barovia comes from Earth, Bulgaria to be specific. I used to live in Bulgaria and it is a lovely country. In any case, the Zarovich family is the Tsarovich family (a noble family with supposed connections to Russia and Bulgaria), the Terg are the Ottoman Turks and the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind is rep...

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

My family is very traditional, or at least we keep to our own traditions. This year on Thanksgiving, as always we got together and ate a turkey. I hope next year the traditions changes. And that we can finally kill, clean and cook it first.

Re: Ravenloft in D&D 5E

I think the 4E approach could be "retconned" as "ToUD hit the world. Ravenloft as we know it dissolved. Then the mists started a new cycle, forming new islands in shadowfell but not a new Core yet. Here is one with a treant as a darklord." This is my theory as well. Though I pla...
