Holy raven! I am famous...

Eh, leave for a few months (blame it on my boss) and I return to find my Guild of the White Pigeon has become part of FoS lore. The first thing that came to mind was to run screaming :o The second was that I never delivered the promised stats update  So, now that you've gone through the troubl...

If you truly wish to annoy players, you could always say that the only mean of truly killing the dragon would be to use a spear whose metal tip was made by smelting precious metals stolen from its hoard.

At last an adventure where rogues would get to "shine".. <coughs>

.. or an exile from Paridon, simply. After all, that's the only "near" tech 10 domain out there.

Y'know, as a note, Andy Snow didn't write the framing fiction in the Book of Shadows. I did, and tossed in a reference to his character after his article was accepted. DOH! Totally sorry about that John. I assumed that since he had done the write-up for the Red Wolf character, the story had been hi...

- Anchors of Faith (by J. Mangrum/Book of Secrets): best info on Ezra till the Gaz. came along

- Red Wolf fiction (by J. Mangrum/Book of Shadows): to me, what really turned Nidala and the Circle into living entities

EDIT: corrected my post to give credit to the real author (my apologies John!)

:) Both settings are essentially Dark Fantasy, with Iron Kingdoms bearing a resemblance to Warhammer, and Thieves World begin like a darker version of Lankhmar. I personally would recommend Thieves World, because it's low fantasy, and because the books can be bought as a bundle now, for a high, but...

Strictly by the book, yes. So, it seems judging from its Tech level.

On the other hand, its description and pictures of its inhabitants seem to suggest 1700-1750. Personally, I go with the latter.

Darkness and Dread from Fantasy Flight Games. You could swear it was written with RL in mind. Fear/Horror/Madness system which, dare I say, works better than the one in RL. Alternate base classes weaker than their traditional counterparts (for those DM who think the PHB classes are too "strong...

There come two of my bigger problems: First, I don't know if a discussion on fictional theology would be fun for anyone, or how can I make it so. Second, if I'm the DM, i'm the judge and the prosecutor. Worse yet, I know more than they do about the Home Faith, and I have the power to make things up...

Eh, if people think this was limited to books of previous editions, they are sadly mistaken.

A friend of mine ordered a copy of the PHB and, when he received it, discovered it was missing all its pages in-between the S and the Z sections of the Spells chapter!

Adding 6-600, heck! let's go nuts and say 666, normal "individuals" across the domains isn't. Adding 666 caliban-looking individuals endowed with supernatural powers would be. At least IMC.

Theoken Refresh my memory as to who that is? If you rule that the various plane-touched races are created from exposure to magical radiation, then you could also rule them an off-shoot of Calibans. If you get simple, unaligned magical energy in an area, you get calibans. If it's good-aligned (I dun...

I don't think the cult's leader is the same person as the baron's daughter. That's two different elf girls.

How about a complete turnover? The cult didn't try to kidnap the girl. The girl was just waiting for agents of the cult to pick her up AFTER she contacted them. Why did she contact them? Because she is haunted by the geist of her mother and needs help: a) getting rid of it b) talking to it c) contro...
