Re: Quoth the Raven #14 netbook

We ask the authors to limit their reference material only to: - all Ravenloft 2nd edition stuff, - all WotC 3rd edition stuff, - all White Wolf Ravenloft 3/3.5 edition material. Can that include references to other D&D settings, including those with ties to RL at the time of the 2nd edition?

Yes, I already thought about it. The problem is that I fear turning the campaign into a "find-a-way-to-protect-the-girl"... And I'm not a fan of this. :? Knowing one of my players, he would make them stay in the manor of the baron, doing nothing but control everything the girl does... :ro...

The Baron of Neblus is an elf, so is his daughter. Elves are long-lived semi-magical creatures. To re-create the 3 Death's Knights, the cult is going to need a lot of weird & rare ingredients. The blood of a young elven virgin (noble-born) could easily be one of them, no?

It's a bit futuristic Not that much, especially in a domain like Dementlieu. After all, the first flight of a montgolflière took place in 1783 (France). But the PC would have almost zero control on where they go and how fast they get there. Too primitive for that. Hmm.. the old Dungeon adventure Ba...

It certainly wouldn't be based on the name "tiefling" since it's highly unlikely any character with a fiendish bloodline would even have heard the term. It's not as if his infernal father (or mother) is going to stay around to teach him/her planescape slang, after all. And, yes, a tiefling...

As for being horrified.. well... I think it'd take a very stupid tiefling to reveal its lineage to anyone . When you travel all the time with a guy with goat legs, horns, red skin, yellow eyes, or whatever.., you're bound to wonder about how he got that way and since RL put the emphasis on "re...

I'm not sure how that makes Tieflings different from the families presented in Legacy of the Blood. Personally, I think the Dilisnya family can give any fiendish bloodline a run for its money, and the Von Zarovich.... Sorry but no. There is a vast difference between the scions of a mortal being who...

As I read it, he doesn't create the vortex itself, he only turns it off for individuals, so Godefroy's death would not deactivate the Gryphon Hill vortex. It would keep the settings from the moment he dies, however, so if he released a powerful ghost for X mission and the ghost then killed him in o...

Really? I wouldn't see Tieflings as any less acceptable. True, their heritage points to evil and all that, but that in no way takes away from their playability. Legacies of the Blood has already given us the option for PCs born into evil who might try to overcome it - what's the real difference? I ...

As an option to players? No, except for the ultra-rare Aasimar but its player better be one heck of a role-player! As an option to NPC? Yes, but don't go overboard. By that, I mean that they should be almost as rare as fiends and each one you encounter should have a good reason for being there other...

However, without a doubt, some of the best gaming product ever released were for FR, and I enjoyed them quite a lot. Yet, Greyhawk msut win, for that means that OLDSCHOOL wins, and with it, maybe Ravenloft too... Eh, it's easy to have the best toys when all the money goes to your product lin...

<bows to a master DM> Superbly done! If this isn't Quoth the Raven material, nothing is. That said, your use of powerful ghostly minions raises a question. Well, two actually. a) if Godefroy "dies" temporarily (since rejuvenation brings him back after 24h), are all the ghosts "free&qu...

Well, you could always use Mictlan (from Ryan Naylor / Book of Shadows).. except I don't think it had access to a sea. Hmm.. time to re-read that netbook :?

So close to running water? Doubtful.

Then again, other vampires (and vampire hunters) would be unlikely to go look for him there, so.. who knows?
