Carinval is always an option and is suggested at the end of the product, or any mass holy site of the paladins alignment I would image would provide enough "distortion" to confuse the Dark Lords, or a misnaumor spell to confuse the alignment of the paladin.

I agree. max. damage and with holy water being a weakness to nearly all undead, it bypasses damage reduction, the way garlic to a vampire bypasses its damage reduction if applied to a weapon or ingested.
