Another bit i have often wondered about- out of left field
, i suppose- is Tinctnoire Manor. Since it's mentioned in two different books, I'm curious if it had some greater - presumably edited-out- importance, was a feature of Andrew Wyatt's campaign unmentioned at the Lonesome Road, or what.

According to a post of John Mangrum's-I forget exactly where-the Beast was meant to be an ugly but good-hearted daughter of the GC drawn to Radaga's table.

FoS Slogan

Having long sought a sort of "Latin slogan" for the FoS IMC, but being mostly ignorant of Latin, I wonder if anyone might be kind enough to provide me with an English translation of the "slogan" at the end of the Nocturnal Sea Report.

Oh, some afterthoughts- there's also the rogue moon and murderoid from the old Spelljammer MCs and the very weird Neth from the 2E Guide to the Ethereal Plane and 3E Manual of the Planes, which is closer to Ravenloft in geography, if not in theme. In addition, I'm pretty sure the old 2E Spelljammer ...

I actually use just about all of it as a guide to Tristen/Malken's backstory and character, with the exception of adding an idea that I partially got-i think- from John W. Mangrum, namely that Malken started out as a blend of fragments of Romir's spirit and curse, and was drawn to Tristen by Rosalia...

That's exactly it; thank you both very much for the link, though I'm still not quite sure why I couldn't access it before.

Blaustein!?

I'm pretty certain that this forum had a thread at one point-titled Blaustein!, I think-filled with stuff on Blaustein and Bluebeard. However, I can't seem to access it any longer, or find it with a forum search. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about, and what might have become of it?

I'm not sure if this helpsn but you might check out Atropus, the World Born Dead in the 3.5 book Elder Evils. It hass a lot of other really cool stuff in it as well, but I'm afraid it isn't very Ravenloftish, focusing as it does on high-powered, high-fantasy, apocalyptic material.l

The Enemy Within

Just curious: I know this novel was declared non-canon back in the TSR days, and that the Kargatane tried to incorporate parts of it into Gaz. 5. However, it's always been one of my favorite Ravenloft novels, and I'm curious if anyone has ever used it more or less whole cloth in their versions of ST...

I did come up with an origin for Toben in my own campaign, but I'm sure it's a far cry from what Rucht-or probably anyone else, for that matter-had in mind. If anyone's interested, however, I can post a thread with a summary of it.

Xavier von Tuerin

Being rather intrigued by the whole "artistic murder" angle, I've been thinking of trying to put to use in a Ravenloft campaignXavier von Tuerin from the 3rd Edition Masque book-or at least a character based on him to some degree. Consequently, I wonder if anyone here has actually made use...

Crimson Death

In preparing to restart a Ravenloft campaign long on hold, I've been rereading the various Gazetteers, and a thought occured to me. In the Darkon chapter of Gaz. 2, there are 2 paragraphs, a sidebar, and one of Azalin's annotations devoted to the Crimson Death. While I know it was mentioned in a Van...

Silly me, I temporarily forgot about your being both here from time to time, and co-author of VRGttWD. I don't suppose you have any insights into Ratik's unpleasant "death", Mr. Naylor?

Questions for the Designers

Though I've been a lurker since the Kargatane days, I've never been registered until now. Consequently, I have several rather elderly questions for the 3rd Edition authors, assuming they're still around. 1. For Rucht Lilavivat: I seem to remember once reading somewhere that you had a definite identi...
