Re: Magic: the Gathering's Ravenloft revealed: INNISTRAD

ooh the next one is a Gothic architecture world? thats pretty neat. I don't play magic, I know some of my friends do though, however the cards are pretty and I like to look at them and get ideas from the artwork there.

Re: Using BRP

Skill list This is a rough draft of the skills that I am planning on using and their base percentage. Those familiar with BRP/Call of Cthulhu might be able to help me with if these skills are quite good enough. As the good thing about the system is that it is modular for skills. I have thought of u...

Re: showing falkovinian opression

intreasting thoughts HuMan. though I am curious in a pre-industrial society how would constient surveillance be done. I could imagine that Drakov would have people who train falcons constiently flying over his towns and his villages, even if they can not communicate with people, they might be said t...

showing falkovinian opression

Hello I am wondering on ways to show the harsh opression of Falkovinia. That plays into one of the main themes IMO of the domain, What is a worse evil Monsters or Humans? I am using this as a main theme for my campaign that I might be running in about a month or so. But showing the harshness of Falk...

Re: Using BRP

Since I am planning to run said ravenloft game in the summer; I am working on a conversion to BRP atm. I can put my conversion notes up here in this thread or would it be better to create a brand new thread? anyways, there are some things I am generally operating under for my conversion. that there ...

Re: Necropolis

When you close a domain it's supposed to be... closed for good yes? No. Domain borders are often open. The Darklord of each domain chooses when to close them (with the exceptions of Vlad Drakov and Tristen Hireegard/Malken who can't close their domains). The only domain with permanently closed bord...

I agree; I am basing my falkovinia off a mix of gothic tales and fairy tales. My Falkovinia takes a lot of influence from the concept of Pan's Labyrinth for example.

Re: How Gothic is your Ravenloft?

Well i am working on a ravenloft game that might be ran in a month or two. So I will try to stick to using the trappings and tropes of gothic horror. However, I do know that I plan to use a lot of fairy tale tropes as well as folklore.

Re: Using BRP

Call of Cthulhu is BRP, just call of cthulhu uses a few diffrent rules(sainty for example). thanks for the advice on the horror plot point, though a lot of my games are far far more of a sand-box style then anything else. good idea on the stats for the monsters. I did find something that might help ...

Using BRP

Hello, It seems like maybe in a month I might be running ravenloft, and as I do not like dnd for ravenloft; I find that it does not help with the mood and tone but just my opinion after all. I am looking at running it with Basic RolePlay, or BRP. For those that do not know BRP is the system that pow...

Re: 5e announced!

Anyway, do you know what I think WotC secretly hopes? That there will be more "Pathfinders" out there, using the OGL to make antagonists of PFinder itself, eroding their fanbase. That would generate a new interest in RPG systems in general, if there were 3-4 3.75E to pick from + 5E instea...

Re: Campaign starting ideas

do you want information for particular domains as well, as some methods are more likely to happen in one area then another. Also for a general tip: some of my methods involve the PCs knowing NPCs or being part of a similar religion, so make sure you check and speak with your players before hand. For...
