Re: Help me with ideas - Train adventure

I like the idea of the train compass being stolen because of Vistani but maybe if the compass is made from Vistani secrets or the person is killed then that could explain a bit more as well. Like the other Vistani curse the one who killed their kin or stole the knowledge and brought this down on the...

Re: A canine hook

While I like the idea it sounds pretty cool already though a very careful encounter with a bit of set up to draw a party into it without making one of them the target of the creature. Also what purpose other than driving the victim insane does it do this? To feed off the process? Because it is like ...

Re: Children of the Night: Giants

To Alhoon That is a perfect moral that often is attributed to giants in that just because they are bigger, more powerful and more in modern DnD advanced does not mean that they can oppress others. Eberron in Xendrik shows that with their history of destroying their own culture and enslaving elves an...

Re: Video game domains?

I posted it in the Dark Beyond's video game thread but this game is very Ravenloft and also fey and folklore inspired.

Bramble: The Mountain King

The main story leads to a villain that is basically a Darklord and I won't spoil but I do recommend at least this game as influence.

Not only gothic but fey inspired on folklore...

Bramble: The Mountain King

The game can get dark but still has fantasy and yet sets quite a mood.

Re: Children of the Night: Giants

Well they happened in various games and some more successfully than others... Perspective Mist Giant Nova Vaasa with a town I invented was where the perspective fooling mist giant adventure took place. The illusion was visual and sound based but there was a flaw in that it required a certain distanc...

Re: Children of the Night: Giants

Size Changing A giant serial killer who stalked Dementlieu and using a size changing ring appeared human sized and raided farms and other areas near the city or ate people only to shrink after and hide away as a Caliban laborer. This sounds like a Spriggan Giant-Kin from the 2e Greyhawk Monstrous C...

Re: Powers Check Question

To Lesser Evil True that it does seem more focused for the PC and NPC betrayal and I am of the mind to ignore the religious aspect more in the check as the betrayal is more in line in my regard. Of note it was with Mordentish sect but the PC was from Richemulot and less concerned religiously than th...

Re: Children of the Night: Giants

A little late but just a few ideas I have used for giants in Ravenloft games I ran. Perspective A mist giant I ran when looked at by anyone as long as they were at a far enough distance looked to be the size of a person but when they started moving toward a target suddenly the view readjusts and the...

Re: stats for the were-hippo please.

PG 46 to 47 of Happy Jacks Funhouse which is a 5e Adventure from the DM's Guild has a write up for a Were Hippo and even some minor rules for giving PC's Were Hippo Lycanthropy. While I have to adapt these rules to Pathfinder/3.5 stats to use them that isn't too hard going back from 5e in my book bu...

Re: Powers Check Question

To Alhoon While I admit it is not story driving in the sense of high drama of the moment the marriage was an event as was the courtship of the NPC and the PC was trying to live slightly less outlandishly after marriage. This slow boil has had heart and the NPC in question is not likely to suspect t...

Powers Check Question

I have a character in a game I am running who is being unfaithful to their wife and having multiple relations with other women. The character would possibly do this so it was not impossible though it seemed they were trying to change after marriage but with this backslide I am stuck how to rate this...

Re: Vampire sunlight weakness reset?

Read you further post Mephisto Agree that healing of scars likely would better fit with healing for days by damage rather than rounds but I will have to workshop how much damage equals a scar at that point instead of just applying it per round. Also I was not saying that you said the sun would perma...

Re: Vampire sunlight weakness reset?

To Mephisto Note that I wrote the post then delayed in posting so now am editing it for more to respond to you. Thank you for the reminder of that tidbit of fluff about Jander and how scars endure. Also I did note that it does 3d6 damage in 2e but no mention is made in 3e though I do think that is a...

Re: Vampire sunlight weakness reset?

Thank you for the reply. Thank you for pointing me to VRArsenal since I missed that. Having the times is good since I try to stick to the books or at least adapt from them closely for house rules or changes but this saves me the trouble for the time limits. I ran them for so long just resetting the ...
