Smartphone Apps for RPG

Hi, long time no see. I haven't stopped playing Ravenloft (always crossed with other campaign settings), but I didn't have much time to post here. Why? One reason is that I was working on a nice little Dice Roller for Windows Phone 7 . I don't want to waste your time here representing a little appli...

Re: Ravenloft is the 2011 Campaign Setting

Having thorougly enjoyed Castle Ravenloft board game, I am sure WotC can provide a wonderful, fast paced boxed set. But right now Castle Ravenloft covers all my spooky dungeon crawling needs. What I would like to see from the new Ravenloft box set is something closer to the new Dark Sun reinarnation...

Still... I'm not exactly confident that the damage of the animal companions are so different from the damage of the ranger's powers. Of course not. That wouldn't be balanced. But there are significant differences for example. For example, our ranger's at will powers are either twin strike (to do a ...

On wild mages : I don't even think they were ever seriously incorporated in 3rd edition. I remember seeing something somewhere (perhaps FR) but they were... un-wildy. No more 6th level spells from a 5th level caster or colored butterflies instead of effects. How do they feel in 4E since I cannot bu...

Yes, but I guess that cheetah does the same damage as the ranger with at will attacks, right? And it would the same damage with per encounter powers as if it was a crocodile or a sharp-tooth armadilo... and also has the same speed. No, you're wrong. Animal companions have different speeds and damag...

While the fewer attacks in 4e make it easier, things like aiming burst/blasts would slow down a real time game I don't see why. They just have to made their areas slightly larger. Depending on the type of game (mmorpg or single player), there will be friendly fire or not. For a multi-player they ca...

Good news all around, weather you're a fan of 4E, or still sticking with 3.X/Pathfinder for the long run! Yes, and d20 Modern srd is still out there, for modern games. But having too many competing *fantasy* licenses (3.5 standard, 3.5 pathfinder, GSL) can be harmful too (dividing writers' efforts).

I think that this should be as system-neutral as possible... Ravenloft is more about the stories than the systems used to run these stories, right? So we should focus on making the setting first, then work on making the rules fit, rather than trying to build a setting to fit those rules. Ravenloft ...

Revised GSL finally out

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/4news/20090302 It will make our life much simpler. Material from various books (alchemy, barbarian, bard etc) is in. Still, planes, paragon paths, and 4 of the new classes (avenger, shaman, warden and invoker) are out. It's a pity, avenger would make for some...

I like Bluetspur, but I think that a city of the dead is a must and Necropolis has quite well linked to the history of Ravenloft (even though imc Necropolis has been destroyed, but Bluetspur still exists).

I don't want to shock anyone but we are violating copyrights. We throw around Trademarked and Copyright names and terms like they were candy in almost every netbook and MB convo. Without a fansite policy, WotC could shut us down at any time. Heck, we spent much of 3e violating their fansite policy (...

For bloodlines I'd actually replace the human bonus At-will ability with some unique bloodline-related Encounter power. I see that bloodline feats are the choice that lets people combine multiple bloodlines (well, we could limit someone to two bloodlines) and plays best with the 4e ideals, but I st...

The more you look into 4E, the more you come to understand that coming up with something brand new without similarity to anything already in 4E is a difficult feat. I can sign that! For the 7thSea we started thinking of a swashbuckler class, a hereditary sorcerer class and a nobleman class. We saw ...
