The Wahldrun family is a family line that has existed in Darkon for generations. It has a unique status, in that the Wahldruns are simple peasant farmers, yet they are protected by Azalin Rex. Due to the loyalty demonstrated by Oldar Wahldrun (the first) in 579 BC, the entire Wahldrun family line were granted permanent protection by Azalin, lasting to the modern day. There are legends among the Wahldrun about the nature of this protection, and there is fear that Azalin will one day come to call in a favor in exchange for this protection[1]
