A vour is a type of undead encountered in the outlander world of Eberron. The first examples of this digusting undead were created in the necromantic laboratories of Karrnath, spawned from the corpses of wights. The Karrnathi necromancers responsible sought an undead that could reproduce quickly, follow commands readily but intelligently, and demonstrate quickness and fluidity in motion. Their end product was a hideous floating torso with lashing, grabbing tentacles instead of normal limbs and a deformed face with a grossly oversized jaw. Coming from its wight ancestry, a vour inflicts energy drain, though with its bite.[1]
Though they readily eat the flesh of their victims, vours can also create servile spawn from from creatures killed by their energy drain attacks. However, bodies that are not taken when the spawning vour and their necromancer commanders leave may wander the wilds seeking prey of their own and acting independently. Thus, vours can be encountered in areas other than Karrnath[1], perhaps even the Demiplane of Dread.
