A shadow spider is a magical beast and ambush predator from the Plane of Shadow fond of hunting for prey on the Material Plane. The shadow spider's bestial appearance belies its fiendish cunning and a predilection toward complex traps in the underground. Combining its tricks with a venomous bite that causes paralysis and the ability to shadow walk at will, a shadow spider is a dangerous foe.^[1]
