The Merionites were a group of invaders from a land bordering the future Barony of the Western Highlands that attacked and conquered the Kingdom of Firfair. Several generations of Merionite rule and their subsequent defeat led to the Firfair Kingdom's dissolution into several baronies, including the Barony of Forfar.[1]
