A court is a institution of justice, it is a place of law and of judgement. If convened in a fixed location that place is a court house. Judgement is passed by a judge, a magistrate, or a jury. A court hands down a judgement of innocence or guilt. The guilty are sentenced to suffer some form of punishment.
