Life belongs to the Living. It is a manifestation of positive energy. It is the dynamism of nature. Its incarnation is the body. It consists of capacity and incapacity. It is consciousness and, in some cases, self-conciousness. Biology studies its material processes. Medicine studies the prolongation of its material processes. Theology teaches that the soul is its immaterial essence. Life's duration is finite, at least in mortal creatures. Its end is death. Its antithesis and doppelganger is undeath.
