Advent of the incest taboo begins the trade in daughters, otherwise known as marriage, by which families receives in return son-in-laws. The taboo places both father and sons under the rule of law, places sons under the rule of their fathers, and make fathers accountable to their families. As such it is the advent of marriage, the advent of law, the advent of politics, the advent of society, the advent of property, and the advent of economics. The trangression of the incest taboo is the advent of crime. Biological man quits the cave and civilised man comes into existence with the incest taboo and language.
