Once a mortal tinker and burglar turned serial killer named Myrus Tell, the Telling Man is now a thoroughly corrupted Mist Creature, existing as a punisher of those who have fallen too much into vanity. He steals their body parts and incorporates them into his own patchwork body. However, he is cursed by his own vanity to never be satisfied with his work.[1]
The Telling Man has been hunted by the Weathermay-Foxgrove Twins and Dr. Marcus Ruscheider. He escaped their endeavors to destroy them and nearly slew Gennifer Weathermay-Foxgrove. Their efforts are chronicled in Van Richten's Guide to the Mists.[2]
