Part of the Rajian Pantheon and thus worshiped in Sri Raji, the goddess Kali is the Rajian goddess of not only destruction and death but also creation and new life. Also called the Black Mother, Kali revels in murder. However, with death she establishes new life.[1][2] The people of Sri Raji view her with awe as a figure that holds great influence over their daily lives.[3]
In Sri Raji, Kali's high priest is Arijani, whom commands Kali's cult of killers known as The Dark Sisters.[1][2] Arijani commands the cult from a temple in the ruined city of Bahru. Daily, a person from one of Sri Raji's cities is chosen as a sacrifice in Kali's name, Once the person is selected, he or she is delivered to Arijani, whom personally devoured the "Chosen of Kali".[3]
