Mentioned in Fair Barovia, Old house of Frantisek Markov and Ludmilla Markov. After Frantisek Markov turned his wife into a science experiment, he was chased out of town and disappeared. However, the townspeople found Ludmilla, whom lingered on for a time, her torment was enough to blight the house with a festering boil of madness. When the Thaani refugees of Bluetspur settled in the house and around, it began to affect them. Khasad, an old bookseller, and Tashlai, his assistant, settled in Markov's house and began to become influenced by the fell influence of the Far Realm. They eventually transformed into monstrous aberrations, and from there, their madness spread to the surrounding community.[1]
