Bolshnik Family

The Bolshnik Family owns the Heartland Duchy located in north-central and north-eastern Nova Vaasa. Stonegard, the seat of the Bolshnik family, sits opposite Kantora on the north bank of the Vaughn Dnar River.

The Bolshnik Family is one of the five families that ruled Nova Vaasa by rotating the position of prince among their respective patriarchs in a process named the Cycle of Stewarts. In 729 Kethmar Bolshnik was serving as prince when he died in office. His son Othmar Bolshnik became prince in his sted, under the tutelege of a regent at the request of his father. At the end of the Bolshnik term of office the regent, Sir Tristen Hiregaard, stepped down but Othmar refused to do likewise, claiming that the regency had robbed him and his family of their turn. By remaining in office, Prince Othmar broke the Cycle of Stewarts. He remains in office today.
