Sly-Var (pop. 4,500) is located in the Ensommark ("Lonely Plain"). The Saniset river, flowing from west to east, and the 'Genspejle ("Mirror River"), flowing from north to south, meet in Sly-Var. Both rivers are navigable at this point. Their cooling waters somewhat counter the heat and dust of the plain.
