Yersinia Wachter was nobly born to in Barovia in 514 BC and lived on Wachter Estate in the immediately vicinity of Krezk Pass. Lady Yersinia was a descendant of Lord Victor Wachter. Her son Aldrick was born in 537 BC. By 580 BC, she was widowed. Since the time of Lord Victor, the head of Wachter family has loyally served Count Strahd von Zarovich as the boyar of the region. As boyar, she maintained as a part-time, volunteer militia of fifty mostly well-to-do children from the neighbouring estates for the defense of Barovia. It was led by her son and helped destroy a raiding party of shambling undead sent by Azalin Rex in 580 BC. She was diplomatically skilled and was briefly dispatched to Lamordia and Mordent in the same year as the ambassador of Count Strahd von Zarovich.
