Atheism is the absence of [[belief]] in the [[gods]] as opposed to [[religion]] which is the presence of [[faith]] in the gods. Atheism [[questions]] not only the supposed intentions of [[gods]] but also their alledged existence. Atheism, moreover, calls into question and raises doubts about an institution. It challenges the way of being of the [[The Faithful|faithful]] and of the peoples of whole lands. It challenges the way of being of [[society|societies]] and of their understanding of themselves as children of the gods. To declare oneself an [[atheist]] in [[Nova Vaasa]] or [[G'Henna]] is to question both the [[authority]] of its leaders and the [[legitimacy]] of the social order. That is the sort of act that can lead to a grusome death or worse.
