The Chekiv family rules the Pommel Duchy. It is located in southern Nova Vaasa. Its eastern limit is the Nocturnal Sea and, to the south, the Mists. A line extended along the northern border of Hazlan to the sea marks its northern border. Its western limit is the eastern Hazlani border and, to the south, the Mists. Its southern frontier is likewise the Mists. The Ivlis Duchy of the Rivtoff family lies to its north. The duchy includes the whole of the Pommel and the smaller part of the Tordenmark ("Thundering Plain"). The temporal leader of the region is Duke Tunch Chekiv. The spiritual leader is Bearnt Chekiv, the Aerkebiskop of Arbora. Arbora is under the sway of the Chekivs.
