It challenges the way of being of the faithful and of the peoples of whole lands. It challenges the way of being of societies and of their understanding of themselves as children of the gods. To declare oneself an atheist in Nova Vaasa or G'Henna is to question both the authority of its leaders and the legitimacy of the social order. That is the sort of act that can lead to a grusome death or worse.
