As such it is the advent of marriage, the advent of law, the advent of politics, the advent of society, the advent of property, and the advent of economics. And the transgression of the incest taboo is the advent of crime. Biological man leaves the cave behind and civilised man comes into existence with language and the incest taboo, the latter arguably reinforced by religion.
The transgression of the incest taboo is not a crime among others. It is the crime of all crimes and as such threatens to undo the very order we call civilization. This is dramatised in various ways.
