Suvarna had been one of many Dark Sisters who had been killed when Ravana's avatar returned during the Rebirth of Kali. The Dark Sisters convirmed Satyavant's claim, but because he refused the Rite of Forced Reincarnation to restore his soul to a female body, he request to rejoin the Dark Sisters was denied.
