Nosferatu are a strain of vampire that are somewhat weaker than their typical brethren, but by no means a pushover. Their attacks and weaknesses are much the same as other vampires, including requiring to rest in a coffin daily with at least a handful of soil from their original grave.[1][2][3] Unusually for a vampire, the Nosferatu can walk about in daylight without fear of immediate destruction, though they do lose the use of their supernatural special abilities during this time.[2][3]

Although Nosferatu cannot afflict victims with energy drain, they drain (and feed upon) blood as per a normal vampire, inflicting a charm effect in addition to the normal Constitution damage.[1][2][3] Nosferatu are able to subsist on animal blood for a time, but not as a permanent replacement for humanoid blood. Unlike normal vampires, living off of animal blood leaves a Nosferatu in a weakened state.[1]

Nosferatu are known to be encountered in the following domains: Barovia[4], Darkon[5], Richemulot[6], and Valachan[7]
