Mistlings are Tiny, malicious aberrations that dwell within the Mists. Indeed, the Mist Subtype marks them as Mist Creatures. They lurk in dark and deep places and are always encountered with mist or fog. Although somewhat similar to gremlins, mistilings attack in swarm and drag away their prey into the Mists. Strange suckers on their abnormally large fingers allow a poison to be emitted that damages Strength.[1]
One legend relates they were a clan of Barovian laminak fey that were brought to the Demiplane of Dread when barovia became an domain. After Barovia's arrival, the Mistlings escaped into the Mists, where they became acclimated to.
