The Weathermay family is the last of the great noble families still extant in Mordent, . They are also the rulers of the realm and the landowners of Mordentshire, having inheriting these resources following Lord Wilfred Godefroy's suicide in 579 AD. Despite their position at the top of Mordentish society, the future of the Weathermay family is in jeopardy. Their resources and wealth have always been modest for nobles, and their numbers have petered away to a tiny number. Lord Jules Weathermay is very old and a successor as family leader as well as lord of Mordent remains uncertain due to George Weathermay's self-imposed exile from Mordent and crusade against supernatural evil. The Weathermay-Foxgrove Twins have likewise shown no desire to settle down and marry[1], focusing on their oaths to continue the legacy of their "uncle" Dr. van Richten.
