Sister Marena

Sister Marena, also known as Marena Bernarden is a witch and healer at the Hospice of the Healing Hands in the southern part of Valachan. She once treated Dr. van Richten's injuries and invited introduced him to the High Priest of the Hospice of the Healing Hands. As a servant of Hala, Sister Marena believes that keeping witch talents secret helps them avoid corruption that might occur if people within the community came to glorify them. Marena, as with many in the Church of Hala, sees themselves as part of the community, not above it. In addition, being discrete may allow witches and warlocks to most easily reach those in need of their powers

Sister Marena comes from the Bernaden Witch Lineage. She once fought a spectral hag named Hasiaph who had a special hatred for her kin. Despite the assistance of Gondegal, they were forced to retreat from Hasiaph's Lair and abandon their mission.

Sister Marena should not be confused with Mrs. Marina; they are entirely separate characters.
