Ebb is an Adult Shadow Dragon who serves as Azalin's steed. She used to reside in Castle Avernus, but now lairs within the Mountains of Misery at Mount Nyid.[1]
Spared the memory altering power of the Domain.
As a dread possibility, Ebb is the mate of Gloom and may be hatching a clutch of eggs.[2]
In From the Shadows
Ebb appears in the From the Shadows module, which took place well prior to the Requiem. Ebb lairs in Area 64 of Castle Avernus.[3] When the player characters escape the castle, Azalin Rex uses her as a mount to follow and observe them.[4]
Chronology
- 303 BC: On this approximate year, Ebb is hatched on an outlander world.[5]
- 603 BC: Ebb's shadow dragon kindred come into bloody conflict with humanoids. It doesn't go well for her relatives, but Ebb manages to escape.[6]
- 656 BC: Ebb stalks those who killed her shadow dragon relatives, but she is drawn into the Mists. Winding in up in Darkon, she first comes into conflict with Azalin but then reaches an accord with him through their mutual power and condescension towards living humans.[6]
- 740 BC: Date of From the Shadows module; The Grand Conjunction.[7]
- 750 BC: Ebb sees Azalin seemingly blow himself to pieces during the Requiem. The experience leaves her grieving and bitter from lack of understanding.[6]
- 752 BC: Ebb abandons Castle Avernus and tries to enter the Shadow Rift. When she is unable to, she makes a nest in Mt. Nyid.[6]
