Zelldrow[1] is a prestige class associated with the shadow fey whom have join the twisted Cult of the Spider Queen. A character who has chosen to walk this path gradually undergoes a transformation, gradually gaining a resemblance to the drow. Followers among the Arak who show these traits become exiles among their own kind.
As previously mentioned, this Prestige Class is associated with the Arak (whom need not meet any special prerequisites other than alignment and religion). However, other creatures, even mortal humanoids, may take levels in this Prestige Class provided they met the requirements. Mortals must undergo a proper ritual to become one of the Cult.
Zelldrow are divine spellcasters. In the absence of levels in other divine spellcasting classes, they cast spells from the cleric spell list much like clerics do, including spell domains and spontaneous casting of inflict wounds spells. Other special abilities that are eventually accrued include the following:
- Poison Use
- Unnerving Gaze, a gaze attack that renders foes shaken
- Spell-like Abilities
- Alternate Form, specifically, the ability to transform into a monstrous spider
- Spell Resistance
- Eventually a transformation into a drider like being.
