Although it was only the latter comforting the other in a time of stress and despair, Misroi mistook this for [[love]] and ordered his men to drag the pair into Misroi's prime location in the [[swamp]] for [[murder]]. Misroi ignored his wife and her friend's pleas for mercy as he ordered his henchmen to [[drown]] them both. However, as his wife went down in the [[quicksand]], she [[cursed]] him with her dying breath. All went quiet after both were [[killed]], but then the two [[victim]]s reached out the muck and pulled Misroi down with them. Misroi's pleas to the powers to be to not let him die were answered by [[the Dark Powers]]. He was [[transformed]] into a [[zombie lord]], and [[Souragne]] formed around him.<ref>[[Domains of Dread]] p. 97</ref>

Although it was only the latter comforting the other in a time of stress and despair, Misroi mistook this for love and ordered his men to drag the pair into Misroi's prime location in the swamp for murder. Misroi ignored his wife and her friend's pleas for mercy as he ordered his henchmen to drown them both. However, as his wife went down in the quicksand, she cursed him with her dying breath. All went quiet after both were killed, but then the two victims reached out the muck and pulled Misroi down with them. Misroi's pleas to the powers to be to not let him die were answered by the Dark Powers. He was transformed into a zombie lord, and Souragne formed around him.[2]
