Biology

Evergreens, oaks, acorns and sturdy bamboo cover the landscape. Each season, spectacular bursts of color create a painting-perfect, ideal view that leaves the senses stunned and reeling. The misty rains and the distant thunder of spring blend with the light greens of the forest, while the wild summer sun turns the wood into an endless cathedral of cascading light. The autumn clouds mirror the yellows and reds of dying leaves, while a white winter snow could blanket the evergreens in a shimmering carpet.

Geography

Sanzhou is a densely forested land.

Authority

Each hamlet has an autonomous system of government, administered by a chief. Although each settlement has a formidable night watch, security is tight especially at nighttime.

There is one grim, unifying law common to all who live in Sanzhou, the law that allows human settlements to live within the forest. Called "The Mandate of Earth," this law prohibits any and all inhabitants to cut any tree or use wooden tools.

Language & Culture

The folk of Sanzhou prefer to live simple lives; common industries include agriculture, tea cultivation and homemade art. The irony is that the forest itself is the cause of their fears and miseries. Although they openly welcome visitors into their small homes, the native folk never speak freely of Sanzhou's true nature for fear of attracting the evil that dwells within the forest.
