One of the Umbra, the highest-ranking members of the Fraternity of Shadows.
His wife, Lady Cassilda de Casteelle, is five decades younger than himself. She is a talented sorcerer and a faculty member of the University of Dementlieu, presumably in the Department of Arcane Sciences. The pair reside with their two sons in the President's Mansion on the university campus.
Has an owl familiar named Lupzig.
